Milliken trailer park flood victims given go-ahead

MILLIKEN – Considering what happened to John Vega and other residents of the Evergreen Trailer Park last month, it’s a wonder anyone is smiling.

“I’m always smiling,” said Vega, one of many residents who had their homes ruined by the Front Range Flood. While some structures in the trailer park on the west end of town near the Little Thompson River survived, the interiors of those homes didn’t, and neither did people’s belongings.

“We lost everything in the house,” remarked Vega, who said in January he and his wife of 38 years, Blanca, will have lived there 34 years.
