Around Town

Around Town
This house mural along N. 2nd Street in Johnstown just east of Roosevelt Middle School always elicits patriotic thoughts, but especially this week as we prepare for the Fourth of July. Remember that fireworks that leave the ground or explode are prohibited in both communities. Also, remember that not everyone enjoys fireworks … especially dogs and people with PTSD. Be careful and be kind and considerate. Got a picture for Page 3? An item for Around Town? We and our readers would love to see them. Send them to [email protected]. Photo by Matt Lubich

Johnstown/Milliken Pride will host their 4th annual celebration at the Johnstown Community YMCA on July 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. The event will feature local vendors and community partners with live entertainment emceed by Simon Hyperion that will begin at 2:30. The event is graciously sponsored by Full Circle Veterinary Care, The Breeze, and others. Pride is a family friendly celebration that honors the local LGBTQIA+ population by providing resources, and a safe space for expression and community.

This is a reminder that Weld County government offices will be closed July 3 and July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. Town offices in Johnstown and Milliken will be closed on Friday.
