Born in Longmont on October 1, 1936, Marvin was the son of the late Herman Louis Stotyn and Wilma Izora Lumry Stotyn.

He served in United States Air Force and retired from the Aurora Fire Department as a Lieutenant Fire Fighter. He relocated from Johnstown to North Carolina in 2021. Marvin was an avid fisherman and hunter and was known for his woodworking skills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Jeanette Harmon and Darlene Wooldridge; and daughter-in-law, JoEllen Stotyn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mona Stotyn; son, Michael Stotyn of Statesville; daughter, Patricia Cerven (Michael) of Troutman; grandchildren, Caitlin Granberg (Robert), Cory Cerven and Dakota Stotyn; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Granberg and Carter Granberg; sister, Carol Stotyn of Greeley; and his beloved dog, Mollee.

There are no formal services planned at this time.
