The family moved to Northern Colorado where she graduated from Highland High School in Ault.
She met Clifford Rutt, and they were married in 1965. They farmed together in Johnstown where they raised their two sons, Chris and Darrin. She later worked for Coors Paper Packaging in the mid-80s and divorced Cliff in 1991.
She later met Ken Thomas in 1999 and worked for DGI Food Company in Denver as a clerk before retiring.
While in Johnstown, she loved horseback riding and was a member of the Johnstown Saddle Club. She enjoyed making Cypress clocks, camping, manicures and crocheting. She also supported her grandchildren by attending their many events.
Survivors include her life partner, Ken Thomas; sons, Chris (Heather) Rutt and Darrin (Dawn) Rutt; five grandchildren, Jacob and Allison Rutt, and Nickolas, Delaney, and Sam Rutt; her brother, Jimmy (Vivian) Hohn; as well as nieces and nephews and her two special dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sheryl Hohn.
Donna’s family hosted a gathering to celebrate her life on November 9 at the Rialto Theater in Loveland.
