PLUMB
PLUMB
Dave graduated from Perry High School in 1982 and then went on to complete the building trades program at Des Moines Area Community College. He earned his Journeyman’s certificate through the carpenters’ union.
On November 5, 1983, he married Kristi Buckley in Perry. They later moved to Ankeny, Iowa, where he worked in construction. His job took his family to Michigan and then on to Colorado where he worked for Alliance and most recently Saunders Construction. The family moved to Johnstown in 2000 and he became active in his children’s activities, including leading Boy Scouts.
Dave’s grandfather, Ernie Ramsden, influenced him as a young man into becoming a carpenter. He developed a tremendous tool collection, always looking for the next vintage tool or Kennedy toolbox at a flea market or driving to pick up something he found on Marketplace.
He enjoyed acrylic painting but most valued time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids and their families. His most favorite vacations were when everyone was together.
Dave made a valued impact at the Longmont Church of Christ where he served as an Elder.
Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Kristi; their children, Emily (Jon) Widdifield, Jeff (Taylor) Plumb and Luke (Shannon) Plumb; five grandchildren, Wesley, Hunter, Kailey, Kenadee and Kya; as well as his mother, Sharon Plumb; his sister, Brenda (Kevin) Luke; a nephew and Kristi’s extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Dave’s Life Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 9 at Longmont Church of Christ, 1351 Collyer Street. Memorial gifts are suggested to “American Diabetes Association” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares. com.
