He was born to Leo and Leona Walston (McNeese) on November 22, 1939, on a farm near Tabor, Iowa. He lived in Iowa until he was 10 years old. When his family moved to the Longmont area to farm, he married Alice Fiechtner on June 19, 1970. He lived in Johnstown from 1970 to 2002.
Larry was a truck driver and worked for various companies in Northern Colorado. He earned a Million Mile Safe Driving Award from P.I.E. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union.
Larry had the gift of gab. He could always find someone to talk to. If you ever met Larry, he would instantly strike up a conversation. He loved talking about his kids and grandkids.
Larry had four children, two from a previous marriage, Leann Hursh (Rick) of Loveland and Richard Walston (Victoria) of Pittsburg, Texas. Larry and Alice had two children, Andrew Walston (Denise) of Windsor and Rosemary Baker (Martin) of Perry, New York. He had 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He attended Johnstown Baptist Church and Mesa 1st Baptist Church. He was a good Christian family man that will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
