EPPERSON

EPPERSON

Jeanne Diane (Tews) Epperson, age 75, of Johnstown passed away on March 3, 2024, with her loving daughter by her side. She was born April 11, 1948, in Ashland, Wisconsin, to Donald and Florence (Stegeman) Tews. She was a resident of Johnstown since 2002. Jeanne lived in Colorado since 1951. She graduated from Littleton High School in 1966. After graduating, she went on to get her LPN license and worked at Denver General Hospital. Jeanne loved being a nurse and helping others, but as life went on, she made the difficult decision to switch careers. She moved to Longmont and found a job in Human Resources for multiple companies, and for many years worked in Lafayette and Boulder. In 1995, Jeanne was excited to work in the Financial Office at St. Vrain Valley School District in Longmont. Her goal was to retire early and so she did at the age of 59 1/2 from the school district. Immediately following retirement, she pursued a passion of hers and did what she always did best: making people laugh. She volunteered as a hospital clown with her clown’s name being “Grandma Liver Lips.”

In her younger years, Jeanne enjoyed playing softball and loved it when she had the chance to play on the same team as her daughter. She was also an avid bowler in Longmont and competed in tournaments that took her to Florida. After her daughter married an Air Force service member, she would enjoy visiting her family wherever they would be stationed across the United States. Her family was her pride and joy.

Jeanne was baptized on July 7, 2007, and was an active member of Connections Church in Johnstown. She used her talents at making people smile and laugh by being a member of the Hospitality Committee. She also enjoyed participating in many bible studies and developed many dear friendships.

Jeanne also had a huge heart when it came to animals. She loved her pets dearly and would also dog sit for friends quite often. Her home was known as the Epperson Spa/Resort for pets.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Marci Jo Epperson (Tommy) Roberts; grandsons, Jacob (Sara) Roberts and Ryan Roberts; her sister, Jeannette (Gary) Kennedy; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Tews.

Jeanne will be cremated with a small private family service to follow this summer. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to can donate to the local Humane Society.
