George Lee Cordova, 71, of Johnstown passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on January 5, 2024. He was born February 21, 1952, in Johnstown to Juan Augustin and Santanita (Sisneros) Cordova where he lived his entire life.
George graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1970 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army for two years before his Honorable Discharge. On October 16, 1971, he married Genevieve Guadalupe Hernandez in Brighton and she passed away on April 8, 2022.
George worked for Kodak for 26 years and later as the Driver Manager for Good Day Pharmacy. He loved to coach and play softball and served as an umpire, played on a Kodak basketball team, was a drummer in a couple of bands, had a no filter sense of humor, loved to Karaoke and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his three daughters, Andrea (Ivan) Sufian, Shawn (Ty) Buxman and Jackie (Marc) Hanger; eight grandchildren, Nick, Drake, Sam, Steven, Tristan, Scarlett, Danielle and Mariah; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ernie (Virginia) Cordova, Art (Janie) Cordova, Mary Blackwell and Viola (Felix) Quintana; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two grandchildren, Isabella and Taylor; and siblings, Gilbert, Louie, Porphie, Severo and Linda Baca.
A visitation was held January 15 at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Recitation of the Rosary was January 16, followed by Mass of Christian Burial, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown. Interment was at Johnstown Cemetery with a reception following at Dreams and Dragonflies in Johnstown.
