Crews from Front Range Fire Rescue practiced ice rescue training this past weekend at Ehrlich Lake in Milliken. Officials point out it’s important to note that the ice in our area is never guaranteed to be safe. With warmer temperatures expected this week, the ice can become weak very quickly. Did you know that many ice-related emergencies happen when people fall into the water while trying to rescue their dogs? To avoid these accidents, watch your pets closely and discourage them from chasing geese on the ice. This behavior can create dangerous situations for both the dogs and their owners.
