An enthusiastic and spirited Christmas concert was given by Blessing Bled Chimanga from Zimbabwe recently at the Johnstown United Methodist Church. Blessing and his sister played the Zimbabwean marimba and mbira and explained the African celebration of Christmas with laughter and stories and the unique music of their instruments. Blessing was at Elwell Elementary earlier in the day and gave students and staff the opportunity to experience African culture through music and narrative. What a blessing….
