It was a frigid, snowy night last Friday in Johnstown. The 5-4 Mountain View Mountain Lions were in town to take on the 6-3 Roosevelt Rough Riders. With both sides in good shape to make it to the Class 3A playoffs, a win would help their seeding.
Sophomore quarterback Jackson Craig would make his first start for the Riders. In cold, wet conditions, both teams stuck to ground plays. On their first drive, Roosevelt ran the ball exclusively, capping it with a 1-yard touchdown by senior running back Luc Vigil. Opting for a surprising extra point attempt, which missed, Roosevelt took an early 6-0 lead.
