The governing board of CIVICA Academy Colorado, located in Milliken, has announced the appointment of John Steckel as the new principal.
According to a press release announcing the hiring, Steckel was selected after a nationwide search which yielded 17 candidates. Parents, teachers, staff members, representatives from the governing board and national CIVICA network, as well as representatives from the school district, all took part in the screening and selection process. Families and students also got to meet the finalists and submit their feedback leading up to the board selection.
