While driving on the highway north of Platteville Wednesday morning, Robert Stockton’s auto suddenly took the notion of going into the ditch, and nothing Mr. Stockton could do seemed to change its mind. Accordingly, into the ditch went the car and occupants. After the dust had cleared away and all had taken invoice of their injuries, investigation revealed the cause of the trouble. Lugs on the left rear wheel had become loosened and came off, allowing the tire to leave the wheel. On striking the ditch the car turned over twice. Fenders and running boards were bent and considerable glass broken but the occupants were uninjured except for minor bruises and cuts.
