The last of the great Comadres

As an author and former native of Johnstown, I’ve dedicated myself to document the history and contributions of our early Spanish-speaking Mexican Elders in the community who, like my maternal grandparents, Saúl and María Molinar, have left their undeniable mark in the historical archives of Johnstown as well as in the entire state of Colorado. As a young girl, I personally witnessed the undeniable bond, mark and greatness of these early Comadres and Compadres, i.e., the Molinares, Riveras, Herreras, Botellos and Holguines, who shared the same migrant journey and dream of “the huddled masses” seeking freedom and the pursuit of the American Dream.
