Around Town

Some holiday happenings Around Town this weekend….
It’s beginning to look a lot like, well, you know. The holiday spirit is popping up around town. Santa, Baby Yoda, Jadyn, Jennifer, and Shanda, all from Ace Hardware (although Baby Yoda may not be able to work the register yet) all wish you a happy holiday season. On Friday, Milliken will host its annual Festival of Lights Parade starting at 6 p.m. The Johnstown Historical Society will sponsor its annual Holiday Open House and Bake Sale this Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Historic Parish House. On Sunday, the Johnstown Downtown Development Association will host “The Johnstown Jingle” from 2 to 5 p.m. in downtown Johnstown. There will be a tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 at the plaza on the north end of Parish Avenue.

You still have time to make Christmas brighter for a kid in need through the Johnstown/Milliken Christmas Caring program. Go to Hays Market or the Glenn A. Jones M.D. Memorial Library and pick out an ornament from the tree with the wish of a local child. Then go buy the gift, wrap it, and return it (with the ornament) to the library by December 4.
