Make plans now to take advantage of the Town of Johnstown’s Arbor Day Tree Giveaway. Swing by Town Hall on April 5 between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to pick up a free tree voucher. There’s a limited number, so if they have any left, you can drop by Town Hall from April 7-11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (while supplies last). Please bring a copy of your utility bill or other proof of Johnstown residence.
Everyone knows that “April showers bring May flowers” but they can also bring severe weather. Residents are encouraged to attend a free weather spotter training class on Tuesday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District (PGFPD) Headquarter Station 1, located at 202 Main St. in Platteville. It can also be attended virtually via a livestream. Those planning to attend in person or virtually must register by March 29.
