The Roosevelt Rough Riders reigning champion girls basketball season sadly ended last week, as the Lady Riders fell 46-42 to Green Mountain in the Great 8 round of the state playoffs. With RHS having the edge over the Rams in field goal percentage, assists and blocks, it’s easy to see that the result of the contest may have been Roosevelt’s No. 1 player, Kyla Hollier, getting in major foul trouble.
The Rough Riders went into the third quarter down 22-18, with Hollier having three fouls. She quickly picked up her fourth and virtually had to sit the entire third quarter. Coming back in with an 8-point deficit in the fourth quarter at 41-33, she unfortunately picked up her fifth and final foul on a questionable offensive charge call.
