Around Town

Boo! It’s going to be a spooky weekend in Johnstown and Milliken, with a variety of events going on to celebrate Halloween….

The Johnstown Downtown Development Association is sponsoring “Trick or Treat Street” this Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in downtown Johnstown. Look for the pumpkin sign in the window of participating businesses and get your treats. There will also be special Halloween train rides, you can meet your favorite princesses and superheroes and get your picture taken with them. Then head over to Milliken for the “Milliken Monster Mash” also taking place on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at Milliken Town Hall. Again, look for businesses displaying pumpkins signs to get your treats. There will also be a haunted house, a costume contest, games and more.

History will come alive at the Johnstown Cemetery on Saturday, as the Johnstown Historical Society presents its “Cemetery Crawl.” Participants will go on a tour of notable final resting places at the cemetery and hear brief histories of those individuals. Tours are at 10 a.m. and noon. Tickets for this event are a $10 donation for anyone 13 and older.
