JOHNSTOWN-MILLIKEN ROTARY CLUB
The Johnstown/Milliken Rotary Club met at 7 a.m. in Johnson’s Corner for its Aug. 29 meeting.
Linda Beck gave the invocation, and Club President Jerry Dunn led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Four-Way-Test.
Guests included Robert Fuller, Liam and Finn Burack, and Amy Johnson.
Club members wished fellow member Jim Lutey, along with his wife, a hearty congratulations in celebrating their wedding anniversary. The club also sends out get-well wishes to Past President Vivian Tapp, who is under the weather.
Johnson presented the week’s program. She is a member of “Yes to the Rec Center,” a citizen’s action group advocating the construction of a recreation center in the Johnstown/Milliken area. Johnson spoke about the recent feasibility study conducted by the Thompson River Parks and Recreation (TRPR) District and two ballot issues voters will decide in November.
The Johnstown/Milliken Rotary Club meets every Thursday at 7 a.m. in Johnson’s Corner. The board of directors’ meets the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Milliken Police Department.
