Loved ones in your life aren’t always another person. They can be your pet(s).

“It’s just as appropriate to celebrate your animal as a valentine as a human,” said Dr. Jane Shaw, director of the Argus Institute at the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins.

“They could be hooved, feathered, or scaled, but (today) is a day of love, and that love can be shared with our animal companions.”
