Injured goose left on lake

07-13-icy-geeseBy Steffanie Sperry/The Johnstown Breeze

MILLIKEN – Late last Friday afternoon at Ehrlich Lake, a wounded Canada goose was seen on the ice dragging its broken wing and looking lost and confused.

A call was made to the Milliken Police Department. When Cmdr. Benito Garcia responded a little later and began looking, he accidently spooked the wounded bird, which had left the ice and gotten into the grass and brush along the shore.

The goose made its way back onto the ice and into an opening where there was water. Garcia watched it for a while before shaking his head and walking back to his vehicle.
