A life well written
Putting pen to paper, it’s what Karen Griffiths was all about
By Martin B. Hamilton/The Johnstown Breeze
Karen Griffiths liked to reflect on subjects that touched her soul, and used her skills of writing to convey those thoughts.
Griffiths, who passed away Dec. 13, 2012, authored a column “Reflections” for The Johnstown Breeze in the 1980s.
In an article published in the May 9, 1976, edition of Empire Magazine in The Denver Post, and reprinted with a few modifications in the April 25, 1985, issue of The Breeze, Griffiths wrote, “It is an interesting web of meaning and circumstance by which someone touches someone else’s life. How remarkable it is that our lives are often touched by faces we see, some for just fleeting moments.”
Griffiths had that effect on people. An educator, author, poet, and an avid reader, Griffiths was also much more.
