Girls experience quarter blackout

JOHNSTOWN – As recently as the 2010-11 season, Roosevelt High School’s girls held an opponent scoreless for an entire quarter of a basketball game.
Last Thursday against Silver Creek, the Lady Riders felt what that is like to have happen to them, as they were shut out during the initial eight minutes of a 52-38 non-league loss.
“To not score in a quarter is a huge hurdle to overcome and a terrible place to put yourself,” RHS Coach Randy Longoria said.
“We’ve done it to other teams,” he said. “But to be on the receiving end is difficult.”
