Riders never gave up

JOHNSTOWN – Until there wasn’t a second left in last Saturday’s state playoff game at Rifle, Roosevelt High School’s Rough Riders weren’t going to give up on this season.
Despite starting 1-4, RHS won six straight to take not only the Class 3A Tri-Valley League title, but also its first postseason victory in seven seasons, before being beaten by the Bears, 48-34.
Reflecting on the season-ending loss and also the season as a whole earlier this week, Coach Noland Eastin said, “It’s tough to lose, but we have a lot to be proud of and be thankful for.
