Nathan Stiles, a prep football player from Kansas, was his high school’s homecoming king. He sang in the choir at his church and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. A running back and linebacker, he was team captain at Spring Hill High School in 2010.

Playing in that season’s final game, four weeks after suffering a concussion during his homecoming game, he incurred additional head trauma and later died from a subdural hema-toma.
