Riders get 2nd chance at Rifle
By Martin B. Hamilton/The Johnstown BreezeJOHNSTOWN – As one of the eight teams left standing following the first round of the Class 3A state football playoffs, Roosevelt High School has as good a chance of taking the title as any team.
“Why not us?” is the motto the Rough Riders took on as the regular season wound down.
It’s the question Coach Noland Eastin put to his team after it closed out the regular season two weeks ago. It will be asked again 1 p.m. Saturday, when RHS plays Rifle in a quarterfinal contest at Bears Stadium.
