JOHNSTOWN – This year’s seniors were freshmen when Roosevelt High School fielded its first girls’ soccer team.

Last season, their second playing varsity competition, the Lady Riders came within one win of qualifying for the Class 4A playoffs. Therefore, it’s the goal of this year’s seniors to lead the team to its first playoff berth.

Senior fullback Savannah Hook said her coach, Robert Brinker, “reminds us we started the program and we should want to make something of (this season).”

But had RHS made the playoffs a year ago?
