JOHN MARVIN SLOAN
John Marvin Sloan, of Vancouver, Wash., passed away April 7, 2013. He was 84.
Mr. Sloan was born July 13, 1928 in Johnstown, to Archie and Edna Sloan.
In 1946, he graduated from Johnstown High School, then attended Colorado State University for two years.
On Aug. 13, 1950, in Johnstown, he married Carol VanDusen.
Mr. Sloan was a member of the New Heights Church in Vancouver, Wash. He liked to spend time with family and friends, playing cards with his wife, sports, fishing, visiting Oregon beaches, and cruising the San Juan Islands in Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Sloan; children, Patty (Ray) Grimme, and Peggy (Bob) Prince; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his brother, Kenneth (MaryAnn) Sloan.
A funeral services is planned for 12:30 p.m. May 24, at New Heights Church, in Vancouver.
Mr. Sloan’s remains will eventually be returned to Johnstown.
