GREELEY – There’s nothing more typical for a father and son to play catch – or even better, to catch a ballgame together.
But it’s different for Jerry Hildreth Sr. and his son, Jerry Hildreth Jr., of Johnstown. When they go to the ballpark, they’re there to coach the Greeley Grays.
Atypical is it’s the younger Hildreth who’s head coach, having been named that back in January.

“It’s a very great parade, and I come to show pride in my town.”
“This is why we moved to Johnstown. It has been a great opener for the summer. It gets better and better every year.”

The sun has not yet crept over the horizon and already somewhere out there, Hilda the Burrito Lady is up and working in the stillness of the coming morning.
The Burrito Lady says she starts her day at 4:30 a.m.
She has been selling and delivering burritos and tamales for three years. Her passion for cooking comes from the teachings of her mother. Hilda the Burrito Lady says her mom taught her how to make tamales when she was growing up, and still helps make 40-dozen every Wednesday night to sell on Thursdays.

Return rec center survey by next Wednesday
Responses requested by June 19
By Martin B. Hamilton/The Johnstown Breeze
A survey is going into the mail today (June 11) seeking local resident thoughts about possible construction of a community recreation center. The Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation (TRPR) District is asking people to return it within a week.
In reignition of a long simmering desire on the part of some to build a rec center for the two towns, months ago a citizens group presented the TRPR board with petitions calling for a feasibility study. The board created a committee, which contracted GreenPlay LLC of Broomfield to conduct a survey as part of that study.
Now, residents will get their say.
